Raiders of the Lost Rum: Hemingway's Adventurous Spirit

Introducing "Raiders of the Lost Rum," the latest treasure in our 100 Hemingway collection. This unique piece captures the essence of adventure, featuring a bold depiction of Ernest Hemingway styled as the legendary Indiana Jones, complete with a rugged fedora and a daring gaze. This isn't just another portrait; it's a vivid narrative brought to life on canvas, where Hemingway embarks on a quest not for ancient artifacts, but for the spirited essence of Key West.

In his hand, Hemingway clasps a bottle of the locally celebrated "Bad Bitch Rum," produced by the renowned Key West First Legal Rum Company, symbolizing his never-ending pursuit of robust flavors and stories. Behind him, a 'wanted' poster for Spanish Marie adds a layer of intrigue and ties in the lore of the rum itself, making every detail of this artwork resonate with local legend and lore.

Crafted with acrylic paint and sparkling diamond dust on hand-stretched canvas, this piece is encased in a sleek white floater frame that enhances its adventurous allure. The playful twist on the classic "Raiders of the Lost Ark" poster, reimagined as "Raiders of the Lost Rum," invites viewers to delve into a world where literature meets local legend, all captured through vibrant and dynamic artistry.

Perfect for aficionados of fine art, rum enthusiasts, and admirers of Hemingway’s adventurous spirit, this artwork is more than a decorative piece—it's an experience. Each artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, ensuring its status as a unique and invaluable addition to any collection.

Step into Hemingway's adventurous shoes and add a touch of daring and whimsy to your space with "Raiders of the Lost Rum," exclusively available at 100 Hemingway. Dive into the vibrant hues and uncover the spirited story of Hemingway and his quest for the ultimate rum.

How is your art made?

Each piece begins as a photograph I take right here in Key West. Using custom digital brushes and a pressure-sensitive stylus in Photoshop, I hand-paint over the image—adding whimsical texture, color, and movement. Once complete, the original photo is removed, leaving only the digitally painted art behind.

Every piece is printed as a museum-quality Giclée on canvas with archival inks, then hand-stretched over wood bars for a clean, gallery-ready finish.

Tell me about the printing process?

I personally print and hand-stretch each canvas using professional-grade equipment in my Key West studio. This ensures color accuracy, quality, and attention to detail—start to finish.

For matted and framed pieces, I work with trusted partners across the U.S. who match my craftsmanship standards.
