This 16x24 artwork masterfully brings together mixed media on a wooden board, layering acrylic paint, diamond dust, and three layers of resin to craft a visual narrative as deep and engaging as the sea itself.
Witness Ernest Hemingway, not with his trademark pen and paper, but plunging into the azure depths, surrounded by the mysteries of the underwater world. This piece imagines Hemingway's search for muses not in the bustling cafes or the silent solitude of his study, but in the serene and uncharted territories of the ocean. The layers of resin add a tangible depth to the piece, creating a lifelike effect of water that invites viewers to dive into Hemingway's introspective journey.
Encased in a minimalist white floater frame, this artwork is a testament to the endless pursuit of inspiration, pushing the boundaries of where creativity can take us. The use of diamond dust adds a subtle shimmer, reminiscent of sunlight piercing through the water, illuminating the depths and the discoveries within.
Each piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, ensuring its value and uniqueness in your collection. How is your art made?
Each piece begins as a photograph I take right here in Key West. Using custom digital brushes and a pressure-sensitive stylus in Photoshop, I hand-paint over the image—adding whimsical texture, color, and movement. Once complete, the original photo is removed, leaving only the digitally painted art behind.
Every piece is printed as a museum-quality Giclée on canvas with archival inks, then hand-stretched over wood bars for a clean, gallery-ready finish.
Tell me about the printing process?
I personally print and hand-stretch each canvas using professional-grade equipment in my Key West studio. This ensures color accuracy, quality, and attention to detail—start to finish.
For matted and framed pieces, I work with trusted partners across the U.S. who match my craftsmanship standards.
